Have you seen the news lately? Britney Spears made headlines recently for driving with her infant son in her lap. This is while she was driving. In her car. With the kid's face like six inches from the steering wheel. Endangering the life of your child is not always this extreme, but misusing the child safety seat can lead to equally catastrophic risks. At least catastrophic in terms of your little one and his or her health. Understand how to buckle the child safety seat in properly and where to put it in the car. It has to be in the back of the car, not up front, even if you fasten it securely in the passenger seat. That is not cool. Here are some other facts:
- A seat belt can choke the little guy or gal if you buckle it too tight. It has to be secure, but so you can slip your hand under it without too much trouble. In order words, do not cut off the circulation with a device that is supposed to save lives.
- If you put your child safety seat anywhere but in the back middle seat, you could leave the child susceptible to being crushed by the airbags in the event of a crash. Some side panel airbags could inflate and harm the poor little thing.
- When you fasten junior in, see when your car seat was made. If it's not new, trade it in for one. You never know when there are defects and product recalls. And you do not want to take the chance with the precious ones.

She may be super hot, but she is a super bad mother. And person. Because of her lack of respect for the child safety seat, Mrs. Federline could have killed her own son. Do not make the same grievous child safety seat errors in your life.
