Child Safety Product
A child safety product that is top priority
Many Americans now have swimming pools in their backyards, but lack the proper child safety product that could prevent their children from drowning. Hundreds of children drown each year and many of those deaths occur in residential swimming pools. Many more suffer injury from pools. some that can result in permanent damage. Most of these deaths and injuries could have been prevented by a child safety product. And that child safety product is the fence that surrounds the entire pool.
Every pool where children are or could be present needs to have this type of fence that denies entry into the pool area to small children. In fact this is a child safety product that is mandated by law in some states, it is that important and has helped to save many innocent lives. Check with your local municipality to find out all the regulations that are in place regarding pool safety fences. Different cities and states have varying laws about how high they need to be, etc. You should know these guidelines before you make your purchase so you are sure not to have to reinstall something else. If your pool already has the fences then you should make sure that they are strong and stable and the the latches for the gate are in good working order. A gate that has faulty latches totally defeats the purpose of the child safety product.
In general, the fence should be about 5 feet tall and surround the entire pool area. There should be a gate whose latches are on the top and out of the reach of small children. If there is a wall that the pool are shares with the house make sure that the door is always closed and locked. This is a serious issue and if something happens, it will be seconds that count. Make sure that your children are properly protected from the risks that water has.
